  • Here is information about the map for Kingsbury Green:

  • Middlesex Sheet 11.06 Kingsbury Green & The Hyde 1895-1911 - published 1995; intro by Jill Barber. ISBN.978-0-85054-762-8

This map covers the area from Kingsbury Green eastward to west Hendon, from Hendon station (on the Midland Railway) northward to Colindale Avenue. The Edgware Road or Watling Street runs through the centre of the map, and close to it are The Hyde, Hendon Brewery, Hyde House (where Oliver Goldsmith wrote 'She Stoops to Conquer') and Schweppes Mineral Water Factory, opened in 1895. Other features include the British Museum Repository (latyer newspaper library), Grove Park, Kingsbury Green itself, Burroughs Lodge at Hendon, and a complex of railway sidings north of Hendon station. The map is taken from the unusual but useful Special Edition, based on the 1895 revision, but with later partial revision to 1911, with later buildings shown in outline; this makes it very easy to distinguish the recent buildings from the old. There are directories for Colin Deep Lane, Collindale Avenue and Edghware Road or The Hyde on the back.

The map links up with Middlesex Sheets 11.02 Burnt Oak & Hendon Aerodrome to the north, 11.07 Hendon to the eas, 11.05 Kingsbury to the west and 11.10 Welsh Harp to the south.
