  • Here are the details of maps for Ince (South):

  • Lancashire Sheet 93.16 Ince Moss 1907 - published 2001; intro by Alan Godfrey. ISBN.978-1-84151-251-8

This highly detailed map covers the southern part of Wigan around Ince Moss. Although the map includes a few Hindley terraces near the eastern margin (around Neville Street) its main interest is in the network of railways; these include a stretch of the main LNWR line, a stretch of the LNWR Lancashire Union Line, Bamfurlong Loop, Ince Moss Junction, Platt Bridge Junction, Platt Bridge Junction Line, Fir Tree House Junction, Bamfurlong Junction and the mineral line to Bryn Hall Sidings. Other features include Bamfurlong Colliery, part of Bryn Hall Collieries, the Leeds & Liverpool Canal Leigh Branch, Bryn Moss, Fogg's Fold etc. On the reverse we include a section of the 1929 Edition of the map, showing the eastern half of the map (incl Bamfurlong Colliery and the main railway) at a later stage.

The map links up with sheets 93.12 Ince in Makerfield to the north, 93.15 Marus Bridge to the west and 94.13 Platt Bridge to the east, 101.04 Bamfurlong to the south.
