    This detailed map covers the village of Hoyland Common, a few miles south of Barnsley, together with the western half of Hoyland Nether, including its High Street. Coverage extends northward to Upper Hoyland, westward to Rockingham Colliery, shown in good detail with railway track layout. Features at Hoyland Common include Tankersley Common Side, Market Place, Hoyland Road and the streets leading off it, with all houses (many of them clearly very small) neatly delineated, schools, Hare & Hounds Inn, Stead Farm. Several hamlets are shown: West Bank, Prospect Place, Hawshaw Terrace, Royston Hill, Upper Hoyland, Milton. St Peter's church, on Hawshaw Lane, is near the centre of the map. Features at Hoyland Nether include St Andrew's church, Hoyland Hall, Hoyland Green, Ryecroft Place, Market Street, Primrose Hill. On the reverse we include directories for Nether Hoyland and Tankersley.
